THUNDER BAY - One of two men accused of killing a Toronto man at a May Street residence in March may seek bail.
Chris Murphy, lawyer for Terrell Williams, 20, of Toronto indicated during a court proceeding at the Thunder Bay Courthouse on Wednesday, Aug. 19, plans to bring a bail hearing application forward once he receives disclosure from the Crown.
“We are still continuing to await disclosure we have not received any disclosure yet, it’s been nearly two months since Mr. Williams’s arrest,” Murphy said. “I am just hoping that disclosure can be prepared quickly or at least some disclosure so I can attempt to bring a bail hearing with some knowledge of the charge.”
Williams and his co-accused, Trayvon Stewart, 19, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder of 28-year-old Adrian Kadeem Drysdale. Both men were arrested outside of the city on June 23.
Thunder Bay police were originally dispatched to May Street on March 23 where they found a male victim with significant injuries and later died in hospital.
Police say the killing was drug-related and say all parties were known to each other.
Williams recently underwent a psychiatric assessment which found him fit to stand trial.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
