Several issues vital to Thunder Bay were presented to members of the McGuinty cabinet at a meeting Toronto this week.
Mayor Lynn Peterson along with some local councillors were in Toronto for the Annual Ontario Good Roads Association and Rural Ontario Municipal Association conference.
They met with various ministers on a number of issues including: implementation of the Northern Growth Plan, the need for more detox beds in the city, the reduction of energy costs and a proposal to have the province's Aboriginal Affairs Ministry headquarters moved to Thunder Bay.
The gathering focused primarily on infrastructure issues. A new system for patching roads, used in the Yukon, was also introduced.
Peterson says they'll be following up with the ministers in the near future about the issues they discussed.
