Mayor Lynn Peterson addressed a packed house from the local business community Wednesday, as she presented her sixth annual State of the City address.

About 200 people attended the event hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce. The Mayor talked about the extraordinary future of the forest industry, the growing research and innovation sector, the many projects that are underway in the city, jobs and the economy.

She also talked about the new developments in south core of the city. In terms of the parking strain that's expected soon in that area, Peterson sees it as a fixable problem. She said the city is working toward short- and long-term solutions.

Peterson earlier presented this State of the City address at a City Council meeting in December.
