THUNDER BAY – In an odd twist, a mayoral candidate in Thunder Bay plans to ask his supporters to cast their vote for an opponent.

In a release issued on Wednesday morning by Frank Pullia’s campaign, they quote Kevin Cernjul as saying he will encourage his supporters to vote for Pullia.

“My reason to run for mayor was to be the voice of young professionals and represent their perspective and vision for a progressive city. In watching this election unfold it has become apparent to me that Mr. Pullia embodies the qualities that I believe are required to make this vision a reality. I encourage all my supporters to cast their vote on Oct. 22 for Frank Pullia,” Cernjul is quoted as saying.

Cernjul has done little, if any campaigning since filing his nomination papers in May and has not attended any forums, debates or provided a profile to the city’s election website.
