MBB: Lakehead stops Nipissing's winning streak at 4

NORTH BAY – The Lakehead Thunderwolves got a much-needed win on Saturday night as they continue their quest to squeak into the OUA men’s basketball playoffs.

Bacarius Dinkins poured in 22 points to lead the Wolves to a 67-58 triumph over the streaking Nipissing Lakers, who had won four straight heading into the contest.

Nick Burke had 13 for LU, with Kyle Estallila coming off the bench to contribute 10.

Justin Shaver led the Lakers with 19.

With the win the Thunderwolves improved to 4-11 on the season while the Lakers slipped below .500 to 8-9.

Lakehead jumped two spots in the ratings performance index standings, from 13th to 11th, slipping past Queen's and Guelph. The top 12 teams make the playoffs.
