SASKATOON, Sask. -- Northern Ontario's Krista McCarville foursome is back to .500 at the 2021 Tim Hortons Olympic Trials in Saskatoon, Sask.

McCarville scored three in the second end and never trailed on Wednesday afternoon -- though she needed a point in the 10th end to seal a 6-5 win over Manitoba's Kerri Einarson, the two-time reigning Scotties Tournament of Hearts champion.

Einarson had battled back to tie the match in the eighth with a steal of one.

The win evens McCarville's record at 3-3, tied with Einarson for third place at the nine-team event, which will send one team to next year's Olympic Games.

Five teams currently have three losses.

Next up for McCarville, Sarah Potts, Ashley Sippala and Kendra Lilly is a tangle with Edmonton's Kelsey Roque (1-4), tied for last place with Ontario's Rachel Homan.
