McCarville rolls past Yukon to clinch Scotties playoff berth

KAMLOOPS, B.C. -- Krista McCarville and company are playoff bound at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The Northern Ontario foursome took a 3-0 lead in the opening end and never looked back on Wednesday afternoon, downing Yukon's Hailey Birney 10-2, stealing at least one point in the final four ends before the two teams shook hands after the eighth.

McCarville, lead Sarah Potts, second Ashley Sippala and third Kendra Lilly improved to 6-1 with the victory, tied for top spot in Pool B with Jennifer Jones.

The Thunder Bay foursome will wrap up round-robin play on Wednesday night against Newfoundland and Labrador.
