MOOSE JAW, Sask. – Kerri Einarson made the shot when she needed it most.

The Manitoba skip on Monday morning made a hit to score two in the 10th and claimed an 8-7 victory over Krista McCarville’s Team Northern Ontario at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Moose Jaw, Sask.

The two teams traded the lead back and forth all morning.

McCarville went up 2-1 in the second, but Einarson grabbed it right back with a deuce of her own in the third.

Einarson went up 4-3 in the fifth, but McCarville tied it in the sixth and took a 5-4 advantage in the seventh.

The Manitoba representatives jumped in front 6-5 in the eighth, only to have the Thunder Bay and Sudbury foursome go up 7-6 in the ninth.

McCarville attempted to play a freeze on her final stone, but created just enough space to allow Einarson to score two.

Team Northern Ontario (2-1) will attempt to get back into the win column against Quebec in the 3:30 p.m. draw.

Alberta and Manitoba are tied atop the Pool A standings at 3-0, while Northern Ontario and Saskatchewan are 2-1. Team Canada is in extra ends against Quebec.

The top four teams in each pool move on to the championship round.
