The McDonalds restaurant on Memorial Avenue that had to evacuate customers and staff following a backroom fire Monday re-opened Thursday afternoon.
Company Spokeswoman Kathy Bukovy said because the fire damaged mostly the building’s exterior, they were able to get staff back to work quickly, including in the drive-thru area.
The fire broke out in a storage area at the back of the restaurant, and fire officials believe it may have been caused by a cigarette thrown into a pile of cardboard boxes.
