A special memorial service is planned for Riverside Cemetery next week to honour four sailors who perished 84-years ago.

The four were members of the crew of the Canada Steamship Lines vessel, the S.S. Kamloops, which sank off of Isle Royale on Dec. 7, 1928.

Of the 22 crew members who perished in the incident, only nine bodies were recovered.

Five were identified and their remains shipped to their families.

The other four were interred in an unmarked grave here in Thunder Bay.

Next Wednesday's ceremony will see the dedication of a memorial stone purchased by CSL to honour their memory.
