West Thunder Community Centre has a new president.

Beatrice Metzler was elected to the position after three years of sitting on the Edward Street facility’s board. Other officers elected for 2014 include Bruce Iwasa as vice-president, Linda Luszczak as treasurer and Ron Moro as secretary.

“West Thunder has enjoyed 20 years of serving our community” said Metzle in a release.

“Our new board and new manager Kevin Johnson place community service as our No. 1 priority for families, youth and seniors. Our centre now has a crisp new look with all function rooms repainted, an updated sparkling kitchen, wi-fi, new fitness supplies and an enhanced parents & tots play area.  It’s a great way to begin our third decade of service.”
