THUNDER BAY — Lakehead District School Board trustees have approved the appointment of Michelle Probizanski to the post of Superintendent of Education.
Probizanski has served with the board for 15 years, including most recently as Principal of Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute.
She succeeds Colleen Kappel who is retiring.
"Michelle brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position," said Director of Education Ian MacRae.
"She has proven herself to be an outstanding educator who has keenly focused on the board's number one priority, student success."
Probizanski graduated from Lakehead University in 1997 and earned a Master of Education: Curriculum Studies at the University of Toronto in 2004.
