Minor crash leads to impaired charge

The incident took place on April 22 on Highway 61 near Princess Street.

THUNDER BAY — A 36-year-old Kenora man has been charged with impaired driving after a minor collision along Highway 61 near Princess Street.

Ontario Provincial Police say upon arrival at the April 22 crash, it was determined that one of the drivers involved had allegedly been consuming alcoholic beverages.

The accused was placed under arrest and returned to the OPP detachment for further testing.

The man was subsequently charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in court on July 12 in Thunder Bay.
