WHITE RIVER, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police say a man reported missing in the White River area on the Victoria Day weekend was located in good condition, after spending nearly two days in the bush alone.

OPP were notified late Friday night that the 61-year-old man hadn't been seen since 1:30 in the afternoon.

His pickup truck was discovered about 11 kilometres east of Highway 631 – the road that links White River and Hornepayne – with a single set of footprints leading into the forest.

With the assistance of the OPP Northeast Region Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team and OPP Aviation Services, the individual was found in good health late Sunday morning.

He was taken to hospital as a precaution for examination, but was released.

Police did not provide any additional details about the case.
