SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON — The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is asking for the public's help to identify the party that killed a bull moose, then left its carcass to deteriorate.

The incident happened earlier this month on the Race Lake Road, north of Sioux Lookout.

Conservation officers were contacted on Oct. 9 by a member of the public who had come upon the dead animal.

The MNRF reports that this is the second such instance in the same area in the past two years.

A cow moose was killed and abandoned in the fall of 2016, just 150 metres to the north of the site of the recent incident.

Anyone with information is requested to contact the MNRF TIPS line at 1-877-847-7667 toll-free, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
