MURILLO -- More track meant more air for Monster Trucks at the Murillo Fair Grounds on Saturday.

Organizers doubled the track's width, brought in buses and vans to build bigger jumps and attracted a few more Monster Trucks for the estimated 15,000 people who passed through the event's gates.

Fans had a different show, even for the trucks they've seen before as drivers have adopted state-of-the-art technology to make the vehicles faster and lighter.

"Right out the gate, they can see you've got a 10,000-pound truck with the horespower they have, not only crashing through things but also leaping over things," said the event manager Brian Sharenow.

"I don't think people realize how fast they go and how far they actually jump. A lot of that is technology over the years getting stronger and stronger every year."
