The city announced Tuesday that bike lanes are being painted on Walsh Street from James Street to Syndicate Avenue, and on Syndicate from Walsh to Brock Streets this week.

A portion of Walsh Street from Kingsway to Edward Street will not be painted due to road construction, but will be completed in September when construction is complete.

Stenciling will be in place by the end of the week. The symbols of bikes and diamonds indicate a dedicated cycling lane.

Lanes in the city’s north side are now complete and the painting of the south side lanes will conclude the pilot project.

For more information on how to use dedicated bike lanes or to see the Active Transportation Plan, visit the city’s website.
