A local MP announced a summer job program would receive more money from federal funding.
NDP MP John Rafferty (Thunder Bay – Rainy River) said the Canada Summer Jobs program would receive additional funding of more than $275,000. The increase will create more than 100 jobs for students for more than 60 projects, he said.
The funding would go towards employers in the public and non-profit sectors.
Canada Summer Jobs is a Government of Canada initiative that provides funding to employers to create summer job opportunities for students.
