THUNDER BAY – Don’t put those snow shovels away just yet.

Well, not that anyone would in early January in Thunder Bay. But according to Environment Canada, they could get another workout as early as Tuesday.

Mark Schuster, a severe weather meteorologist with Environment Canada, said he’s been tracking another snow storm  which could arrive in the city early next week.

“It’s still quite far out, so it’s hard to say with certainty exactly when it will be. But it looks like a large weather system may affect portions of Ontario and considerable amounts of snow may fall in the Thunder Bay area,” Schuster said.

“We’re still keeping an eye on it and this far out conditions may change.”

The good news is that after a few days of below average temperatures, Schuster said it looks like the mercury may climb to a more seasonable -9 C high, providing at least a one-day reprieve from Arctic-like temperature conditions.
