THUNDER BAY - The region got a break this weekend with some warmer weather after being stuck in a polar vortex that brought bone-chilling temperatures, but winter is still far from over.
A Colorado low is expected to track into Northwestern Ontario Sunday night and Monday and could drop between 10 and 15 centimetres of snow.
According to Environment Canada, the low-pressure system will track just south of Lake Superior. The snow will start falling Sunday night and continue throughout Monday.
Northwestern Ontario is on the edge of the system, but if the Colorado low tracks closer to the region, higher snowfall amounts could be possible.
The system may also result in hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility, snow accumulation on roads, and possible blowing snow.
