A Resolute newsprint shutdown caught the union representing those employees off guard.
More than 100 workers are affected by the two-week shutdown at the newsprint mill.
Communications Energy and Paperworkers Union president Gerry Harris says it has been about three years since the mill has faced this kind of shutdown.
“With the newsprint market the way it is -- declining -- it’s just not good when you go down in this industry anymore for any reason,” Harris said.
Harris added that people should be back to work by May 8.
