With the holidays over, gasoline prices have suddenly dropped in the city.

Most stations around Thunder Bay are now selling regular unleaded fuel for about $1.17 per liter. For the gas bars along Red River Road, that's more than eight cents lower than the prices posted throughout the holiday season.

Thunder Bay motorists now have cheaper gas than the average driver in Ontario and across Canada.

According to the website gasbuddy.com, the national average price is at $1.18, while the provincial average is about $1.19 a litre.
