Motorcyclist in Vickers collision remains in hospital

A motorcyclist involved in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Vickers Street and Northern Avenue Tuesday remains in hospital, while two others were released.

THUNDER BAY – A motorcyclist injured in a collision at the intersection of Northern Avenue and Vickers Street on Tuesday remains in hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries, police say.

The intersection has been reopened to traffic after the collision, which occurred around 2:45 p.m. and also involved a car, the Thunder Bay Police Service said in a statement.

Two occupants of the car who were transported to hospital for evaluation and treatment of injuries have since been released.

The extent of the male motorcycle driver’s injuries “remains unknown but are believed to be serious,” police said.

Both vehicles in the collision appeared to have sustained significant damage.
