Motorist charged with stunt driving on Highway 11/17

THUNDER BAY -- A driver faces multiple charges after being pulled over by the OPP on Highway 11/17 near Thunder Bay on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, members of the traffic incident management enforcement team observed a pickup truck travelling at high speed close to the Highway 527 intersection.

They initiated a traffic stop and questioned a 44-year-old woman at the scene.

She was arrested after refusing to provide breath samples into an approved screening device.

The resident of Marten Falls First Nation was charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand, stunt driving, and driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.

The woman was released from custody for a court appearance near the end of March.
