A five-to-six vehicle accident has forced the closure of the Trans Canada near the junction of Hwy. 17 West and Hwy. 17 A.

The Kenora detachment of the OPP said they're unsure how long traffic will be at a standstill. There is no word on the severity of the accident or whether there were any injuries.

A trucker on scene told tbnewswatch.com the highway appears to be closed from Kenora to the Manitoba border.

Weather conditions are blamed for the pile-up.
