Michael Kelly, 63, briefly appeared in court on Monday to set a series of dates for a preliminary hearing slated to begin on Nov. 15.

The pre-trial is expected to last two weeks. During that time the Crown is expected to call about 30 witnesses.

Kelly, who appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay, was arrested on Oct. 24, 2009 in connection with the disappearance and death of 57-year-old Judy Thibault.

Thibault was reported missing in November 2000. Her abandoned vehicle was found in the Intercity Shopping Centre parking lot the next day.

The woman's remains were located in August of 2004 in the Dorion area.

Kelly was Thibault's common-law partner at the time of her disappearance. He was living in Alberta at the time of his arrest.
