THUNDER BAY — A man who was already charged with aggravated assault in connection with an altercation earlier this month now faces a charge of second-degree murder.
Thunder Bay Police announced Tuesday they have re-arrested 34-year-old Billy Moskotaywenene on the homicide charge because the victim of a July 3rd assault has succumbed to his injuries.
The incident occurred in the area of Jean Street and Van Norman Street, where responding officers found a man with life-threatening injuries.
On July 16, the 27-year-old Thunder Bay resident passed away in hospital.
The victim's name has not been released yet.
Moskotaywenene has been remanded into custody on the new charge pending a future appearance in court.
