THUNDER BAY -- Traffic closed down Court Street throughout Sunday afternoon but there wasn't a car in sight.

Every non-motorized mode of transportation from strollers to rollerskis took to the middle of the road between Camelot and John Streets for the third annual Open Streets.

"It's basically a movement to help people reimagine the city streets. We close the road to traffic, open it to people and it becomes a paved park," said Ecosuperior program coordinator Ashley Priem.

"Now they have the opportuntiy to get some exercise, to get some fresh air, meet their neighbours and discover a new business."

Video cameras recorded the event and organizers will review footage to determine the turnout and event's success.
