NAPS officer arrested, charged for trafficking narcotics

A Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service officer has been charged with four counts of trafficking narcotics, the force revealed Monday.

A Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service officer has been charged with four counts of trafficking narcotics, the force revealed Monday.

In a news release issued to media Monday morning, officials with NAPS say they concluded a 10-month long investigation on Dec. 9, which ended with the arrest of a NAPS officer.

Police say 32-year-old Brent Cadeau, a detective sergeant with NAPS, has been charged with four counts of trafficking a controlled substance.

Cadeau has been suspended since March 2011.

The suspect will appear in court in Sioux Lookout on Jan. 10, 2012.
