NAPS seize $27,000 in drugs in Attawapiskat

(ATTAWAPISKAT, ONT.) - A 19-year-old man from Attawapiskat is facing drug charges after more than $27,000 worth of methamphetamine pills were seized on the remote First Nation.

According to a media release by the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service, officers from the Attawapiskat detachment made the arrest on Nov. 26 under the controlled drugs and substances act.

The methamphetamine pills seized have an approximate street value of $27,000.

The 19-year-old male from Attawapiskat was charged with possession of a controlled substance and has been released on conditions with his next court date on January 22, 2020.
