RED LAKE, Ont. – A 20-year-old Neebing man now faces impaired driving charges after police respond to a traffic infraction.
Red Lake OPP were patrol on Saturday around 11:46 p.m. in the Ear Falls Township when officers observed a motor vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and failing to signal on Scott Street.
According to a media release, police conducted a traffic stop and the driver of the vehicle was spoken to.
The officer demanded a breath sample, which the driver subsequently failed.
Police arrested the driver for operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood and returned to the detachment for more tests.
As a result of the investigation, the 20-year-old Neebing man was charged with impaired over 80 and was released by way of a promise to appear in Red Lake court on Aug.15 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charges.
