New Brunswick man accused in failed Dryden bank heist

DRYDEN, Ont.—The Dryden Police Service has identified the man accused of trying to rob the community's Bank of Montreal branch on Monday.

John Wayne Horsman, 31, from the Moncton area, faces charges of robbery with a weapon and wearing a disguise. He's currently in custody in Kenora pending a bail hearing.

Police say a man with a knife entered the bank Monday afternoon wearing a disguise and displaying a knife.After a brief encounter with the staff, he left the building without getting any money.

The bank provided security-camera video which police then released to the public.

The man was arrested Monday night in Kenora, after OPP came into contact with him on an unrelated matter.

Dryden police did not provide further details of the arrest.
