The president of Global Sticks says he is optimistic that the idled plant will resume production early in the new year.

Reggie Nukovic told Thunder Bay Television Thursday that his new business plan should help attract the $2 million needed to get back into business.

The key, he added, is getting approval from the province and other creditors.

Nukovic conceded that the wood supply issue remains unresolved.

Right now, he said the company’s target is to have employees back on the job by Jan. 15.

About 80 people have been off the job since early November.
