There could soon be a new $26 million facility built on the grounds of the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.

There could soon be a new $26 million facility built on the grounds of the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.

Hospital officials are remaining tightlipped regarding details of the project but documents from the City of Thunder Bay indicate the new Translational Research Facility would house new Cyclotron and Radiopharamcy equipment. It also predicts about 70 jobs would be created.

Earlier this year, City council agreed to give $1.5 million towards the purchase of the cyclotron equipment. However, funding for the facility is still being petitioned through senior levels of government.
