New COVID-19 case brings district total to 63

THUNDER BAY - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has announced a new COVID-19 case, a woman in her 40s who lives in Thunder Bay or the surrounding area.

The woman is believed to have contracted the virus through close contact with an existing COVID-19 case. She is now self-isolating at home.

The news brings the total number of confirmed cases in the district to 63. All but 16 of those have been in Thunder Bay and the surrounding area, with nine in First Nations communities and seven in other communities throughout the district.
