New COVID-19 case brings total in region to 90

The latest cases is a woman in her 20s who was exposed to COVID-19 through close contact.

THUNDER BAY - The latest positive case of COVID-19 brings the total number of confirmed cases to 90 in the region.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit said in a media release issued Monday morning that a woman in her 20s has tested positive for the virus.

The exposure category is listed as close contact and the episode date was June 19, 2020. The woman is self-isolating.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the region to 90. Of the cases, 83 are resolved and six are listed as active. Of the six active cases, three people are currently hospitalized.

The public is reminded to continue to practice all public health guidelines, including regular hand washing and practicing social distancing.
