THUNDER BAY - The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported a new confirmed case of COVID-19 for the first time in over two weeks Saturday morning.

The district's 93rd total case of the virus is a Thunder Bay-area man in his 60s, who is now self-isolating at home.

It's now the only case considered active by the health unit, while 91 are considered recovered. One area man with underlying health conditions died from COVID-19 complications in late April.

Health authorities had not yet determined an "exposure category" explaining how the newest case of the virus was transmitted.

The health unit last reported a confirmed case of COVID-19 on July 3.
