SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. - The Northwestern Health Unit reported one new confirmed case of COVID-19 over the weekend.
The case involves a resident of the Dryden/Red Lake area, which includes over a dozen communities.
The health unit announced few details about the case Saturday evening, but stated it was related to a previously announced case.
The news means there are now eight active cases in the NWHU's region (the Kenora district and most of the Rainy River district), according to provincial data.
The individual identified as a positive case Saturday could be a resident of any of the following communities in the NWHU's Dryden/Red Lake area: Balmertown, Cochenour, Dryden, Eagle Lake 27, Eagle River, Ear Falls, Eton-Rugby, Ignace, Machin, Madsen, Mckenzie Island, Melgund, Minnitaki, Oxdrift, Red Lake, Vermilion Bay, Wabauskang 21, Wabigoon, and Wabigoon Lake 27.
