New COVID-19 case in Sioux Lookout area

There are now six active cases in Northwestern Ontario's two health unit jurisdictions.

KENORA, Ont. — The Northwestern Health Unit announced Wednesday it has received a report of one new positive COVID-19 test result in its jurisdiction.

The case is in the Sioux Lookout area.

Follow up with the person involved and with the individual's contacts has started according to protocol.

Anyone who is identified as a contact for this case will be notified directly.

This is the second day in a row that the NWHU has reported a new COVID case in the Sioux Lookout area.

Currently, there are five active cases in the NWHU's jurisdiction.

In the jurisdiction of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit, there is one active case at present.
