New COVID-19 case in Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has reported a new confirmed case of COVID-19 for the first time in over a week. 

The district's 108th case, announced late Friday morning, involves a woman in her 20s in Thunder Bay and the surrounding area.

The other 107 are considered resolved, including the death of one local man in April.

The health unit lists an episode date of Oct. 6 for the new case, representing the earliest recorded onset of symptoms, specimen collection, laboratory testing, or date reported to the health unit.

No exposure category for the case has yet been determined for the new case.

The individual is now self-isolating, the health unit reports.
