KENORA — The Northwestern Health Unit reported two new positive COVID-19 test results on Thursday morning.

Both cases involve individuals in the Sioux Lookout region.

The health unit said followup with the patients and their contacts is underway according to protocol.

Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be notified directly.

On Wednesday, the Northwestern Health Unit announced a positive case in the Rainy River area and one in the Kenora area.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported its first new case in about a week on Wednesday, and said the individual is self-isolating.

TBDHU said the source of exposure was still under investigation,  but the case is not connected to Ecole Gron Morgan, where a primary-grade student tested positive last week.

It said there is still no evidence the virus spread at the school.
