THUNDER BAY – The schedule is out for another season of Fresh Air Trail Runs at the Kamview Nordic Centre.

The trails are drying out nicely and Kamview Nordic Centre general manager Peter Crooks is confident that the trails will be in excellent condition for the first trail run of the season on Sunday.

The 38th Annual Fresh Air 10 kilometre and 2.5 kilometre Trail Run is happening on Sunday, June 11 with all profits going to the George Jeffrey Children’s Centre.

Get your entry form and fee into Fresh Air by Friday, June 9 at noon. This event starts at 10 a.m. with kit pick up and late entries accepted at Kamview from 8:30 to 9:30 am.

The dates for the regular Tuesday evening Fresh Air Trail Run series are as follows:

June 20th
July 4th & 25th
August 8th & 29th
September 19th & 26th
October 10th
November 7th

Registration, for these Tuesday evening Trail Runs, takes place at Kamview Nordic Centre from 5 to 6 p.m., and the timed runs start at 6:30 p.m. It costs $5 per participant. There will be a short course and a long course and as always, a free kid’s mini-race.

Kamview Nordic Centre will host two other special Trail Run events. On Friday, July 14, the muddiest trails, gnarliest single-track and natural obstacles will be found on the course of the Mid-Summer Mudslinger. And the 13th Annual Kamview Fresh Air Off-Road 1/2 Marathon ends the trail run season on Sunday, October 22nd.

In the past, almost 200 athletes have tackled the trails at Kamview for many of these events.

The CRC Communications Snow Phone will be updated throughout the Trail Run season! Call 807-285-0801 to hear Peter’s updates on trail conditions, course routes and schedule changes.
