Nine cars burn in Simpson Street lot

Police are investigating the incident, which took place early Thursday morning.

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Fire Rescue confirms nine vehicles were burned in a lot located off Simpson Street early Thursday morning.

A few dozen abandoned vehicles were in the lot and sources have told TBNewswatch that the vehicles are often used for shelter by some in the homeless population.

The call came in just after 6 a.m. 

Police were on scene on Thursday keeping an eye on the situation and have taken over the investigation, according to fire officials.
