Nine new COVID-19 cases in the Thunder Bay area

Active cases across the city and district have fallen to 103.

THUNDER BAY — The Thunder Bay District Health Unit has announced nine new COVID-19 cases in the City of Thunder Bay and immediate surrounding area.

All the cases are listed as close contact, and all nine individuals are self-isolating.

An analysis of TBDHU data shows they are all under 59 years of age, including three who are younger than 20.

The episode dates are between Dec. 5 and Dec. 14.

At the Southbridge Roseview long-term care home, the company reports a total of 27 current active cases, including 14 residents and 13 staff.

The total of 27 active cases in the nursing home is two fewer than what was reported Tuesday.

To date, 12 residents of the facility have died after contracting the virus.

The TBDHU now reports 103 active cases in its coverage area, with no patients in hospital.

This is 12 fewer active cases than on Tuesday.
