THUNDER BAY — Nine artists from Thunder Bay have received nominations for this year's Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards competition.
The awards are presented every two years by the Sudbury-based non-profit organization Music and Film in Motion.
Awards are presented for excellence in music, film and television/video on demand.
Thunder Bay nominees this year include:
- Outstanding Screenwriter - Lee Chambers and Kris Ketonen for Norbert and the Gnomes
- Outstanding Screenwriter - Lee Chambers and Nick Murphy for Slade
- Outstanding Director - Michelle Derosier for Angelique's Isle
- Outstanding Engineer - Chris Dorota for Glory Days by Greenbank
- Outstanding Songwriter - Coleman Hell for Manic
- Outstanding Songwriter - The Honest Heart Collective (Ryan MacDonald) for Separate Ways
- Outstanding Video by a Northern Ontario Musical Act - Kutch for Bottleneck
- Outstanding Video by a Northern Ontario Musical Act - Webby D for Alright Okay
The awards will be presented on May 25 in Sudbury.
