Nipigon OPP charge two with drug trafficking

A speeding ticket led police to lay drug trafficking charges on two Saskatchewan men. Nipigon OPP stopped an eastbound vehicle for speeding in the township of Corrigal Saturday morning.

Nipigon OPP stopped an eastbound vehicle for speeding in the township of Corrigal Saturday morning. Police say the driver had breached his bail conditions and was arrested.

Officers then searched the vehicle and found about $27,000 in cash and 20 grams of crack cocaine.

Police charged a 30-year-old-man from Saskatoon, Sask. and a 35-year-old-man from Regina, Sask. with trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The 30-year-old was also charged with failing to comply with a recognizance contrary to the criminal code and for speeding.

Both men are in custody at the Thunder Bay District Jail.
