THUNDER BAY – Alston Harris is starting to heat up.

The veteran Lakehead Thunderwolves guard was an early force in last Saturday’s win over nationally ranked Toronto and followed it up Friday night with a 22-point performance as the streaking T-Wolves downed Laurentian 75-60.

It was a season-high for Harris, who hit double-digits for the fifth time in 2022-23.

Michael Okafor chipped in 19 for the Thunderwolves, playing just 27 minutes. Caillou Lacroix topped the Voyageurs with 22, matching Harris’s game-high total.

No. 10 Lakehead (10-3) takes on Nipissing on Saturday night.

The result wasn’t as fortunate for the Thunderwolves women, who fell 59-47 to the Voyageurs.

Ally Burke had 11 to lead the way for LU, who fell to 1-12 on the season. Helena Lamoureux topped Laurentian with 22.

In women’s volleyball action, the Thunderwolves improved to 3-12, sweeping  Trent University 3-0 at the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse.
