No injuries after runaway plane leaves Kenora runway

Strong winds and poor weather conditions were factors that led to a small plane running off a Kenora airport runway, police say.

Strong winds and poor weather conditions were factors that led to a small plane running off a Kenora airport runway, police say.

Kenora detachment OPP officers responded to a call Friday after a Piper PA32 single-engine plane ran off an airport runway.

Police say the plane touched down but poor weather conditions forced it off the runway.

Police add that the three people onboard were not injured as a result of the incident. The runway also sustained no damage.

The Kenora airport remains open.
