THUNDER BAY – Nominations open Thursday for the City of Thunder Bay’s sixth annual respect. Award. The respect. Initiative Working Group is calling for nominations for the 2018 award, which is sponsored by Diversity Thunder Bay. The respect. Award recognizes an individual, business, or organization that has demonstrated leadership in enhancing diversity and respect for others.

“Each year, as the nominations for the respect. Award start coming in, we are inspired by the commitment and dedication of our community members and organizations that work to address all forms of discrimination, and to make our community more inclusive and respectful for everyone,” said Tina Tucker, Chair of the Respect Working Group. “Respect is critical for building positive relationships and trust, and embracing the growing diversity within our community.”

The Award will be presented on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, during Diversity Thunder Bay’s 12th Annual Celebration Breakfast, which recognizes the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

The respect. Initiative is a joint initiative of the Anti-Racism & Respect Advisory Committee and the Thunder Bay Crime Prevention Council.
