North-side drivers paying more for gas than south-side motorists

Motorists filling up on the city’s north side have been paying just a little more for fuel this week than their south-side counterparts.

Gasoline prices along Red River Road went up just before Christmas, and have been sitting at about $1.26-per litre for more than a week. But that's nearly four cents higher than the gas bars on the south side.

Many gas bars along Arthur Street have featured prices hovering at a $1.22-per litre.

One gas bar operator who spoke to Thunder Bay Television said it's a strange situation, and added that it used to be that when one gas station raised or lowered its prices, every other gas bar in the city followed suit.

That trend seems to be changing.

Meanwhile, the lineups continue at gas bars on the Fort William First Nation.

Gasoline prices at some gas bars there range from a $1.06-a-litre to $1.11.
